Product Information

The Royal Wulff is a classic dry fly pattern that has been used by fly fishers for over 80 years. It was first created by Lee Wulff, a legendary fly fisherman and conservationist, in the 1930s. The fly was named after Lee's friend and fishing companion, the Duke of Windsor, who became King Edward VIII of the United Kingdom in 1936.

The Royal Wulff is a highly visible fly that is often used in fast-moving water, such as streams and rivers. It is designed to imitate a variety of mayflies, caddisflies, and other insects that are commonly found in these types of environments. The fly features a bright red band of floss in the middle of its body, which helps to attract the attention of fish. It also has a white calf hair wing and tail, and a peacock herl body, which give it a distinctive appearance.

The Royal Wulff is effective for catching a variety of fish species, including trout, bass, and panfish. It is used in sizes 8 to 20, and can be fished with a traditional dry fly presentation, using a floating line and tapered leader. The fly can be cast upstream and allowed to drift naturally downstream, or can be presented using a variety of other techniques, such as the parachute cast or the reach cast.

Overall, the Royal Wulff is a classic and effective dry fly pattern that has stood the test of time. It is a must-have in any fly angler's fly box and can be used in a variety of fishing situations.
